100% of your donation will go to Cedric’s surgery fund or basic necessities for his family
Cedric has spina bifida, a condition which will result in total paralysis and an early death if he does not receive a major, expensive operation. We are in the process of exploring options for treatment to find the best course of action. Right now it seems likely that the Mission of Mercy will have to take Cedric to India where he can receive a high quality surgery at a price much lower than in the Philippines.
Cedric already suffers from partial paralysis below the waist. He is still able to stand and walk with difficulty but he has lost voluntary control of his bladder and bowel. Though the partial paralysis cannot be reversed, a totally corrective surgery will arrest the deterioration of his fatal condition and will restore control of his bodily functions. This means that, with our help, it is still possible for Cerdric to survive, grow up and have a normal life.
Cedric’s family has been hit particularly hard by the pandemic. This is a tourist town and the coronavirus restrictions have completely shut down tourism, devastating the local economy. It is very difficult for the father to find any work and the little he is able to find is not nearly enough to keep his family from going hungry. With the grace of God and the generous assistance of donors I am resolved to provide the family with the necessities of food and Cedric’s medical supplies until the pandemic restrictions are lifted.
Through a series of providential events God has placed me in the path of this family to offer them His mercy in their desperate need.
