A Thank You

I would like to offer my sincere thanks to everyone who has helped and encouraged me to begin this campaign for Cedric’s surgery. I had known Cedric for quite some time before I prayerfully resolved to undertake this venture. I wanted to help him from the very beginning but, to be honest, I did not believe I would be able to. I considered raising the large amount of money that will be necessary for his surgery to be unrealistic- and, to be sure, without God’s grace it would be. The main motivation- aside from God’s promting- for my initial plea for help was merely to obey my conscience; though I was not hopeful for much success at least I would know I had done what I could do. Recent disappoints in my personal journey- times when much needed aid was refused- had left me tempted to doubt the willingness of my fellow man to help those in need. I was surprised and truly amazed that when I asked for help for Cedric it fell down upon us like rain on the desert.

We have a long way to go but we have been given a very good start. On behalf of Cedric I thank those who have offered us their treasure or prayers – the help we have thus far been given makes my confident that with God’s grace and my own hard work we will acheive the lofty goal He has placed before us. And I thank those who have given on behalf of myself, also. Your generosity and concern for our little brother has strenghed my faith in my fellow man- and, more importantly, my fellow Christians- at a time when it had begun to waver. So, I thank you! Be assured that every day I will be praying for God to bless all who have helped this mission with their hands or with their heart.
